Go Projects

At The River, we believe that Jesus calls his church to be a compelling force for good in the world. We believe that the church is at its best when it serves, sacrifices and loves, caring about the things God cares about. We were created to live for something larger than ourselves.

We are also a part of the growing Eco Church movement, which means that we are on a journey towards creation care being integrated into everything that we do.

That is why we believe that our community has been called to “do church” a little differently. On the first Sunday of every month, we go into our community and we work together to do projects that make our world just a little bit better.

Te Ringatini - The Many Hands
River Restoration Project

The Te Ringatini Crew have taken responsibility for restoring and regenerating The Donkey Track which is a reserve that runs along the bank of the Ōpāwaho - Heathcote River.

We gather at 10am at The Donkey Track (between Sloan Tce and Malcolm Ave) and we pull out weeds, mulch, plant trees and have a nice cup of tea at the end.

Community Garden Project

The Community Garden team are passionate about growing food that can be put in our community pantry and shared with our wider community. If you know a lot about gardending or you want to learn how to grow food, then this is an incredible project to be a part of.

You can find this team out the back at 30 Colombo street. They are very friendly and they always have a cup of tea at the end.

Pallet Project

Our Pallet Project team are passionate about breaking down pallets and turning them into creative and helpful things for our wider community. From community pantries, to park benches, art pieces and more, this project would be perfect for you if you love building, making, creating or just want to learn some new skills.

You can also find this team out the back at 30 Colombo Street. They are very friendly and they always have a cup of tea at the end too.

We are always coming up with new ideas and trying new things, so if you have an idea for a go project get in touch with the team.
